What is the cost?
We are proud to provide this conference free-of-charge to veterinarians and technicians with the help of sponsor support.
Who is able to attend?
This event has a RACE approved CE Track for both Veterinarians and Licensed Technicians. Non licensed Veterinary Technicians are welcome to join, just fill in N/A for the License #.
How do I access the lectures?

Lectures range in length from 30 minutes to two hours.

Questions for the presenters on the DVM Track will be accepted through October 31st.
Note: Due to the record attendance of this year’s virtual symposium, we are unable to accommodate questions from the presenters on the Technician Track. We apologize for the inconvenience.
How can I engage with sponsors?
What if I am unable to join on Sunday, October 3?
No problem! Lectures and the virtual exhibit hall will be available on-demand through December 31. Please note that sponsor “live chat” will only take place on October 3, however questions will be able to be submitted to sponsors through the end of the year.
Will there still be raffle prize drawings?
Do I need to download or install any software to attend this event?
No software or downloads are required to attend the symposium. You only need to have internet access.
Where will the event be held?
This is an online conference and no travel is required! You can participate from anywhere with internet access. The event is accessible from all desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.
Are the lectures captioned?
Yes! We are pleased to provide captioned lectures. To access the caption options on each lecture, simply click on the CC icon next to the volume.

Can a non licensed Veterinary Technician take part in this event?
What if I do not pass a quiz?
If you do not earn at least a 70%, you can retake the quiz.
How long are the lectures available?
All lectures are online and available for viewing on-demand October 3rd – December 31st.
I can’t attend October 3rd; can I still receive CE credit?
Absolutely! All lectures are online and available for viewing October 3rd – December 31st. We encourage you to view at your convenience within that time. Regardless of when you choose to view the lectures, the process of obtaining CE credit remains the same: you must view the lecture in its entirety and take and pass the quiz associated with each lecture you attend. Each quiz must be taken the same day that you view the lecture. All quizzes will be in the Continuing Education tab and will be monitored for audit purposes. A passing quiz score is 70% and quizzes may be retaken if not passed.
I can’t attend October 3; when can I begin viewing the lectures?
All lectures are online and available for viewing October 3 – December 31. Once the lecture has aired in its entirety on October 3, it will be available for viewing at your convenience.
Will CE certificates be available for download online (“digital”) or physically mailed to my address?
The Event CE certificate will be available as a downloadable PDF. You will be required to download your certificate and may print it once downloaded. Certificates will not be physically mailed.
REMINDER: The Event CE Certificate must be downloaded each day that you attend the lecture(s). A new date will appear on each certificate.
Will I receive one certificate for each lecture?
No; all lectures will be listed on one certificate.

An additional Opioid & Substance Abuse CE certificate will be emailed within 30 days of attendee's completion of the above requirements.
For the States in which the Opioid CE is a requirement - the CE Lecture must be vewied in its entirety and will NOT be sent to attendees who to not comply with this requirement

How do I receive my CE certificate?
To receive CE credit, you must view the lecture in its entirety and take and pass the quiz associated with each lecture you attend. Each quiz must be taken the same day that you view the lecture. A passing quiz score is 70%.
**Note: FOR VETERINARIANS ONLY - A separate certificate for the Opioid Abuse and Controlled Substance Diversion: Veterinary Implications lecture will be emailed within 30 days of completion of this lecture quiz.
All quizzes must be taken the same day that the lecture is viewed. A passing quiz is required. Please allow approximately 30 days to receive this certificate. It will be emailed to the email address you registered with.
Can an LVT get CE credit?
Yes! Licenced Veterinary Technicians will receive RACE approved CE credit for all lectures completed under the Technician Track.
How many hours of continuing education is offered through the conference?
18 hours of RACE approved CE lectures are available for Veterinarians
For Texas license renewals, is there still a limit of 10 hours of virtual learning out of the total 17 hours required?
According to the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME), any of the acceptable CE options (online, webinar, teleconference) will be accepted totally towards the 17 hours required for Texas veterinarian license renewals.
*For other states, please check with your local board of veterinary medical examiners.
OPIOID & SUBSTANCE ABUSE
I watched the Opioid lecture and passed the quiz, where do I get my CE certificate?
Texas Veterinarians: An additional Opioid & Substance Abuse CE certificate will be emailed within 30 days of the attendee’s completion of viewing the lecture in its entirety and completing and passing the associated quiz. This is a TBVME requirement, however this will be sent to all attendees who complete the Opioid & Substance Abuse CE requirements.
A CE certificate will NOT be sent to attendees who do not view the lecture in its entirety.
The certificate will be emailed to the email address utilized at registration.
The Opioid CE can also be found on the Event CE certificate and marked there once attended (and appropriate quiz has been passed).
Do I have to watch the entire lecture?
Yes; the Opioid & Substance Abuse CE certificate will not be sent to those who do not watch the entire lecture from start to finish. This lecture’s watch time is trackable for audit purposes.
Does the opioid lecture meet the new state of Texas 2-hour CE requirement?
Yes! The lecture, Opioid Abuse and Controlled Substance Diversion: Veterinary Implications, does satisfy the new state of Texas 2-hour CE requirement related to opioid abuse and controlled substance diversion, inventory, and security now required every two years to renew a license to practice veterinary medicine. It is both RACE approved and approved by the TBVME.
